Jacobite Syrian Chapel Mangalathunada

The St. George Jacobite Syrian Chapel is where around 200 members of the Mazhuvannoor St. Thomas Cathedral come to worship. On Feb 20 1972, the metropolitan of the Angamaly diocese H.G Philipose Mar Theophilus purified the chapel and celebrated the holy Qurbana. On 12 Dec 2010 H.G Jacob Mar Antonios blessed and established the foundation for the reconstruction.

The local head of the church in Malankara is the Catholicose of India, His Beatitude Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I, ordained by and accountable to the Patriarch of Antioch.

St. Mary's Jacobite Syrian Orthodox church at Malayidamthuruthu in Angamali diocese was established by the diocesan Metropolitan H.G. Mor Dionysius Thomas (Catholicos Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I) in 1975. The three altars in the church are dedicated to Holy Virgin Mary, St. Thomas the Apostle and St. George the Martyr (Mor Geevarghese Sahdo).
